Evidence integrity
Originals preserved. Changes made visible.
DwellCapsule preserves original uploads separately from thumbnails, annotations, and AI-generated text. Reports and Shared Baselines are versioned. This page describes tamper-evident capabilities — it does not claim court certification or admissibility.
Evidence integrity
In developmentOriginal files preserved. Later changes detectable.
DwellCapsule preserves original uploads separately from thumbnails, annotations, and AI-generated text. Where file-integrity processing is enabled, each original receives a cryptographic digital fingerprint and a server-recorded receipt time. The fingerprint can later be checked to determine whether the stored file has changed.
Original file retained unchanged.
Cryptographic digital fingerprint recorded.
Server receipt date and time recorded.
Original file metadata retained separately where available.
Thumbnails and edited derivatives stored separately.
AI observations stored separately from original evidence.
Report versions preserved.
File integrity can be checked again later.
Server receipt time records when DwellCapsule received the file — not when the photo was originally taken. DwellCapsule does not certify capture time, capture location, or the photographer’s identity, and does not guarantee legal admissibility.
Timestamps DwellCapsule distinguishes.
- Device-reported capture time
- As reported by the device that took the photo. Not independently verified.
- Embedded metadata
- Metadata inside the file itself. Retained separately where available.
- Server receipt time
- When DwellCapsule received the file.
- Report generation time
- When a report or Shared Baseline version was generated.
DwellCapsule uses “tamper-evident,” not “tamper-proof.” We do not claim certified timestamps, verified capture time, indisputable timestamps, guaranteed chain of custody, guaranteed admissibility, court-certified evidence, impossible-to-alter files, or blockchain verification.
