For renters
Document the condition at move-in — before it becomes a question later.
DwellCapsule helps you document what was already there, note anything you were given, and preserve a condition record you can refer back to later.
Why move-in matters
Move-in is your best chance to document what was already there.
Existing damage, wear, missing items, or other conditions can become harder to reconstruct later. Recording them when you move in helps preserve what you saw and what you reported from the beginning.
Start with what you have
Create the record from the information available to you.
I need to document the condition
Document the home room by room
Capture photos and notes as you move through the property so existing wear, damage, missing items, and other conditions are easier to refer back to later.

I received something to review
Review what I was given
If you received an inspection, checklist, PDF, condition report, or other move-in record, review what was documented and note anything that needs additional context.

More than a camera roll
Photos help. A condition record gives them context.
DwellCapsule connects photos and notes to the rental record so the condition, timing, and later history are easier to understand months later.
Organized by place
Photos and notes can stay tied to rooms, areas, and conditions.
Connected to when they were added
Move-in documentation stays distinguishable from later additions and changes.
Preserved as history
Images, notes, responses, and later condition events can remain connected over time.
From move-in to later
Keep the condition history connected.
1. Move-in
Establish the starting condition.
2. Repairs & changes
Keep later condition updates connected to the record.
3. Inspections
Preserve later observations without losing the original starting point.
4. Move-out
Refer back to what was documented earlier.
Your record
Your record stays clear — and sharing stays controlled.
Originals stay preserved
Original source material remains distinct from later additions.
Later additions stay identifiable
Photos, notes, responses, and acknowledgments remain connected to who or what added them where the workflow supports that context.
Private does not automatically mean shared
A renter's separate private record is not automatically exposed to a property manager, institution, sponsor, or employer.
When your property manager uses DwellCapsule
Participating in a property workflow is different from sharing your private record.
If your property manager invites you to review move-in condition through DwellCapsule, the photos, comments, acknowledgments, or exceptions you submit in that workflow are available to the property team as part of that rental process.
That does not automatically give the property manager access to a separate private DwellCapsule record you maintain for yourself.
Property workflow
Submissions you make in the property-manager workflow are part of that shared workflow.
Your private record
A separate private renter record is not automatically exposed outside that record.
You choose whether to share a separate private record outside its normal workflow.
